Likely borrowed from Chagatai قوش (quş) or may have been directly borrowed from Classical Persian قوش (qūš), or at least borrowed semantically.
Both ultimately from Common Turkic *kuš (“bird”), traced further back to Proto-Turkic *kuĺ (“bird”).
