From Old Georgian უბე (ube), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ube/a- (“bosom, lap”). Cognate with Mingrelian ლუბა (luba), უბა (uba), ლჷბა (ləba) and Laz უბა (uba), ობა (oba).
