Is it possible for a plane to use cameras and screens instead of a clear windshield?
I was just wondering: is it possible to have a commercial plane with no cockpit windshield, just external cameras and video screens?

How can pilots identify, in flight, the cracked layer(inner/middle/outer) from an impaired windshield?
Depending on the cracked layer, there would be some actions from the crew.
The inner layer seems to be simple to identify, but if the middle and/or outer layer is cracked, how will pilots identify the right crack's position?
