There are numerous occasions, especially during late night flights, when hardly there is rush at the airport, the pilots park the airplane out there somewhere, and ferry the passengers by bus. Is it a big trouble to take the plane to the aerobridge and then take the plane to the parking spot?

  • it's the airport operator that decides where the pilots park based on -> 2. the agreement between the airline and the airport operator might stipulate that the airline parks there

I think it's also a matter of fees: parking further away is cheaper than parking in the gate's immediate vicinity. – PerlDuck Aug 14 '17 at 12:49
  • @Pondlife I think its the opposite – Firee Aug 14 '17 at 12:52
  • @Firee Yes, I think so too. It's related, but not a dupe. – Pondlife Aug 14 '17 at 12:53
  • It is a duplicate and the answer states parking overnight on the bridge is more expensive. – h22 Aug 14 '17 at 19:43
  • @h22 Why can't they drop passengers at the bridge and then taxi to their favourite parking spot? – Firee Aug 14 '17 at 20:33
