I'm a hobbyist in 3D animation and 3D printing while for work i'm a fire alarm and fire suppression designer/engineer. I have been using 3dsmax and autocad for about 20 years and when my hard drive died I finally switched my desktop to linux to avoid the monthly subscription fees by Autodesk. I have been extremely happy with both Blender and DraftSight as alternatives.
