I know about the exceptional stability of Cyclopropylmethyl carbocation.
In some books it is given that cyclopropyl and cyclobutyl carbocations are highly unstable due to their high strain. That is true and quite acceptable, but just like cyclopropylmethyl carbocation they can also have resonance structures and the cyclobutyl carbocation can rearrange itself to the cyclopropylmethyl carbocation by ring contraction. My question is, what will the stability order between the cyclopropyl, cyclobutyl, cyclopentyl carbocations?
Also if anyone please can help me to understand why resonance structures in cyclopropyl carbocation will not be possible?
