I tried bashing by letting $A=\begin{pmatrix}a & b\\c & d\end{pmatrix}$ and $B=\begin{pmatrix}w & x\\y & z\end{pmatrix}$, but as you can tell, this got messy quickly. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
