File Synchronization refers to reflecting changes from a set of files to the same set of files in another location. Synchronization can also be applied to contacts, music, or other data.

There are two primary methods of synchronization:

  1. One-way sync makes one of the copies the authoritative copy and updates the other copies to match it.
  2. Two-way sync looks at all of the changes in all copies of the files and updates all the copies to contain all of the most recent changes.
