Probably it's kind of stupid question, but how do you come up with this symbol in latex

\documentclass{minimal}
\begin{document}
$\mathcal{R}$
\end{document}
produces the desired glyph.

I am just curious, based on my detextify-screenshot shown below: is there any difference between using
$\mathcal{R}$with and without the packageamssymb? – Matsmath Aug 17 '16 at 15:05 -
2@Matsmath -- although
\mathcaloriginally requiredamsfonts(loaded byamssymb), the command was added as a "robust" command to the basic latex document classes, presumably after complaints that the non-robust form was causing problems in titles and other headings. – barbara beeton Aug 17 '16 at 15:18

$\mathcal{R}$should do it. – auden Aug 17 '16 at 14:45\mathcal{R}? Just a guess. – samcarter_is_at_topanswers.xyz Aug 17 '16 at 14:45
