Questions tagged [proofreading]

{proofreading} concerns tools and methods for locating and correcting (La)TeX documents

Proofreading involves identifying errors in a document at a proofing stage (i.e. before final printing). Errors range from punctuation, through spelling and grammatical issues to factual problems. Tools exist for locating and correcting spelling errors and grammatical issues. Such tools are typically part of the editor in which the document is written. Punctuational and factual problems must be identified by the proofreader. Vital for proofreading is the possibility to mark identified problems and to convey corrections to the typesetter (which can be the author).

The tag thus encompasses both tools and techniques to accomplish the different tasks involved in proofreading a text.
