I was a software technical writer, and I took up LaTeX in early March of 2014 as a replacement for FrameMaker in order to publish a few books (PDF only) for my employer. I truly like what LaTeX can do. It was the only tool outside FrameMaker that could implement our corporate look. I am still quite new to LaTeX, about 40 days in at this writing, but I am very pleased with how quickly I could get it to do what I needed. I am a great fan of the minipage, as well as fontspec, hyperref, fancyhdr, textpos, titlesec, and titletoc packages. I am no page designer, but I was expected to implement a design provided by a graphic artist. The minipage and those packages were essential. The macro feature also helped me keep the text uncluttered with mark up instructions. I am a great fan of macros.

For health reasons, I have retired. I have also decided that I want to set a Quenya text as book entirely in Tengwar (not for work). Neo-Quenya is my latest obsession. I think has a very attractive grammar, and I love highly inflected languages.
