I'm having an error while trying to install polynom package

Question

First, I use TeXstudio and I have MikTeX 2.9.

I tried to make TeXstudio automatically install it but it gives me an error saying it cannot find polynom.sty. At this point I go around the internet trying to find a solution and I find it. In a few words, I have to install the package manually by first downloading the files from CTAN, which I did, and then open the two files .dtx and .ins with my editor and compile them, which I did but that gives me this error:

I also ended up with a texput.txt saying this:

@ilFuria I don't think an MWE is useful in this case. Alex is simply asking how one should go about installing packages? Alex, have you taken a look at my posted link? MikTeX as a package manager that allows you to install packages directly. — Troy, Mar 28 '17 at 14:06
There is no need to install the package manually. Use the miktex package manager to install polynom. It is doesn't show the package use repositories-> synchronize to update the package list. — Ulrike Fischer, Mar 28 '17 at 14:07
