  • Do you get any warnings/errors when you run bibtex? Did you compile with latex before and after you run bibtex? Is slide.bib in the same folder? – samcarter_is_at_topanswers.xyz Dec 21 '17 at 12:05
  • While you wait for an answer to this question, can you go back to your previous ones and look if the answers solve your problems and accept them, if they do? – samcarter_is_at_topanswers.xyz Dec 21 '17 at 12:08
  • i didnt get any warning when run bibtex. yes i compile before and after i run bibtex. and yes it's in the same folder. – yap Dec 21 '17 at 12:09
  • @yap: Unrelated, but please don't use \bf for bold text. Instead use \textbf or \bfseries (https://tex.stackexchange.com/q/41681/134144) – leandriis Dec 21 '17 at 12:09

Even better: don't manually disturb with font commands, use \setbeamerfont{frametitle}{series=\bfseries} instead. – samcarter_is_at_topanswers.xyz Dec 21 '17 at 12:13
  • @yap Can you show us a minimal working example with bibliography (MWEB) that also includes the necessary .bib entries to reproduce your problem? Can you show us the log file of your MWE? – samcarter_is_at_topanswers.xyz Dec 21 '17 at 12:19
  • i have already added the bib entries but where to get the log file? – yap Dec 21 '17 at 12:23
  • and i realised the problem is caused by this line : l(\theta)= \sum_{i=1}^{n} \delta_{E_i}\log[f(t_i)]+\delta_{R_i}\log [S(t_{R_i})]+\delta_{I_i}\log[S(t_{L_i})-S(t_{R_i})]. after i delete this line, references appear. i really dont know whats wrong..... – yap Dec 21 '17 at 12:24

With the sequence pdflatex - bibtex - pdflatex - pdflatex I get the reference, without changing anything of your code. The .log file is placed in the same folder as your .tex file (unless you're using output-directory). – Torbjørn T. Dec 21 '17 at 12:33
  • thanks! i got it with this sequence. previously i was using pdflatex+makeIndex+Bibtex > bibtex > pdflatex+makeIndex+Bibtex – yap Dec 21 '17 at 12:44
  • Off-topic: Be sure to encase surnames (Gompertz, Cox, Fisher, Richards), geographic references (Pacific) and acronyms (SAS, AIP) in title and booktitle fields in curly braces, to prevent them from being rendered in lowercase. – Mico Dec 21 '17 at 13:01
  • @yap Hi, do you have the template of statistical planning and inference journal? – Fahim B Mar 19 '18 at 19:48
