I am doing the citing sources in-text. I am following the question in to change to where it able to make to “Smith (1992&1993)”

I couldn't find the symbol & in the setting at all.

How to make from:

“Smith (1992 & 1993)”

to

“Smith (1992; 1993)”

My MWE:

Just Ctrl-F for & in your code and you'll find the line

\renewcommand{\compcitedelim}{\addspace\&\space}

Indeed if you comment out this line you get back to

\renewcommand{\compcitedelim}{\addsemicolon\space}

  • thanks. I am not sure why I didnt see the & and also i was thinking change to ; but not worked, should be addsemicolon – aan Sep 24 '19 at 15:57

    @aan ; instead of \addsemicolon would have worked as well, but \addsemicolon is the official macro that should be used and so it is strongly preferred over ; since it can do some additional bookkeeping. \; of course would not have worked (if you just went for a straight replace & with ; job). – moewe Sep 24 '19 at 16:00
