  • texniccenter hasn't been updated since 6 years, so if there a bug in the log-file parsing, I doubt that it will get corrected. Either use another editor or live with it. – Ulrike Fischer Jan 07 '21 at 22:31
  • Many thanks for that. Is there a consensus of opinion among the experts as to which editor is the best [I am writing quite a long book]? The Technic Center editor does have a lot of very useful features. – keith77777 Jan 08 '21 at 13:40
  • no there is no consensus. See https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/339/latex-editors-ides – Ulrike Fischer Jan 08 '21 at 13:55
