Layout, generally, means the spatial arrangement of elements. It may be in architecture, design, or some other field.

In context of UX, we generally talk about the interface layout. Interface layout represents the positioning of the various interface elements viz. text, buttons, labels, menus, media, etc. in the designed interface.
