Questions tagged [shrinkwrap]

The Shrinkwrap modifier allows an object to “shrink” to the surface of another object. It moves each vertex of the object being modified to the closest position on the surface of the given mesh (using one of the four methods available). The Shrinkwrap constraint is the “object counterpart” of the Shrinkwrap Modifier. Use this tag for questions relating to the application of the Shrinkwrap modifier or constraint.

Blender has two means of applying a 'shrinkwrap', a modifier and a constraint.

  1. The Blender manual describes the Shrinkwrap Modifier thusly:

The Shrinkwrap modifier allows an object to “shrink” to the surface of another object. It moves each vertex of the object being modified to the closest position on the surface of the given mesh (using one of the four methods available).

  1. It describes the Shrinkwrap Constraint as

the “object counterpart” of the Shrinkwrap Modifier. It moves the owner origin and therefore the owner object’s location to the surface of its target.

Use this tag for questions relating to the application of the Shrinkwrap modifier or constraint.
